England has unveiled their playing eleven for the second Test against the West Indies, commencing this Thursday at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

The lineup features a solitary change: Mark Wood steps in for the legendary James Anderson, who has retired from international cricket following a victorious first Test at Lord's. Anderson concluded his illustrious career with a total of 704 Test wickets, ranking just behind renowned spinners Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. In his farewell match, he bagged figures of 1/26 and 3/32, as England triumphed by an innings and 114 runs.

Additionally, England had handed a debut cap to young pacer Gus Atkinson in the first Test, a decision that paid off handsomely. Atkinson collected 12 wickets for 106 runs, the fourth-best debut performance in Test history, including a seven-wicket haul in the first innings. The full lineup for the second Test includes Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, captain Ben Stokes, wicketkeeper Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Mark Wood, and Shoaib Bashir.
