Wolverhampton Wanderers announced plans to file a complaint with UEFA after South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan was allegedly racially abused during a pre-season match against Como 1907. The incident occurred midway through the second half, with a Como player reportedly calling Hwang 'Jackie Chan' based on his nickname 'Channy.'

Como, recently promoted to Serie A, defended their player, stating that the comment was misunderstood and referring to the nickname used by Hwang's teammates. Wolves manager Gary O'Neil consulted Hwang about continuing the match, and the player chose to proceed. Wolves secured a 1-0 victory in Marbella, Spain.

The incident sparked an angry response from Hwang's teammates, leading to Daniel Podence's ejection for punching a Como player. O'Neil assured that Hwang would receive full support from the team.
