India's preparation for the upcoming Paris Olympic Games has seen an unprecedented financial boost, reflecting the country's heightened expectations. Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra's gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics has been a significant catalyst, leading to Rs 96.08 crore being allocated to athletics.

In a funding spree, the government has spent close to Rs 470 crore across 16 sports, with shuttlers, boxers, and shooters among the biggest beneficiaries. According to official data, shuttlers alone received Rs 72.02 crore, showcasing a substantial increase in investment.

SAI's Mission Olympic Cell has meticulously analyzed and approved funding proposals from athletes and national federations. This investment includes foreign exposure trips and national camps, as the nation gears up to field a strong contingent of 118 athletes at the Paris Games.
