The Professional Cyclists' Association (CPA) announced intentions to initiate legal proceedings against a spectator responsible for throwing potato chips at UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar and Visma-Lease A Bike's Jonas Vingegaard. The incident occurred during stage 14 of the Tour de France as Pogacar led the sprint up Pla d'Adet.
The same act was repeated against Denmark's Vingegaard who followed shortly after. 'The CPA will take legal action against this individual with pleasure for what he did to both Pogacar and Vingegaard,' CPA President Adam Hansen stated on X.
'This behavior is disrespectful and will not be tolerated,' Hansen continued. Vingegaard finished 39 seconds behind Pogacar, and Belgium's Remco Evenepoel, who was second in the general classification, now falls to third.
