A 75-year-old man named Sudhu Badaik tragically lost his life after being trampled by a wild elephant in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Tuesday morning, according to police reports.
The incident took place near Hamirpur, on the outskirts of Rourkela city, when Badaik left his home early in the day amidst dense fog.
Authorities indicate that the elephant, which had become separated from its herd, attacked Badaik, who might not have seen the animal approaching due to poor visibility. The victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
