A 32-year-old woman who went missing was discovered dead in a Thane district lake in Maharashtra, police reported on Monday. Authorities have registered an accidental death case and launched an investigation, a Badlapur East police station official confirmed.
The woman, Anita Pandey, vanished from her residence at Kharvai Naka in Badlapur on November 8. Concerned, her husband subsequently filed a missing person report with the local police.
On November 9, locals noticed a body floating in the lake near Pandey's home and notified police, officials said. After recovering the body, authorities identified the deceased as Pandey. The police dispatched her body to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the circumstances of her death.
