In a precautionary move, authorities have temporarily halted the Gondola ropeway service in the resort town of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district. This decision follows a terror attack that claimed the lives of four individuals, including two soldiers, officials confirmed on Friday.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday when terrorists targeted a force vehicle six kilometers from the tourist hotspot of Gulmarg. The assault resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and two Army porters and left another porter and a soldier injured.
Officials emphasized the Gondola shutdown as a preventive action to ensure the safety of tourists and workers. The iconic cable car project, celebrated for offering scenic views and mountain adventures year-round, is expected to resume operations after thorough security evaluations.
