IMD's report highlighted a staggering number of heavy rainfall events, with 525 instances of precipitation between 115.6 mm and 204.5 mm, and 96 occurrences above 204.5 mm. These figures marked the highest rainfall events in the last five years.

Specific regions bore the brunt of the extreme weather: Kerala witnessed severe landslides resulting in 397 deaths, Assam and Madhya Pradesh reported 102 and 100 deaths respectively, and the national capital recorded 13 deaths.
