The Disappearance of a Multilingual Scientist Under Scrutiny

Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, the 49-year-old Italian-Hungarian CEO of Hungary-based BAC Consulting, is under intense scrutiny following the explosive incident in Lebanon, which resulted in 12 deaths and over 2,000 injuries.

Barsony-Arcidiacono, who holds a PhD in particle physics and speaks seven languages, insists that her company merely licensed the pager designs from the original Taiwanese manufacturer, Gold Apollo. She denies direct involvement, stating, "I am just the intermediate. I think you got it wrong," in an interview with NBC News.

Since news broke, Barsony-Arcidiacono has disappeared from public view. Her apartment in Budapest has been shuttered, and she has not responded to calls, emails, or visits from Reuters. The Hungarian government has confirmed that BAC Consulting is a trading-intermediary with no manufacturing presence in Hungary.
