An unattended bag at the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital triggered panic on Thursday, prompting urgent action by a bomb disposal squad.
Television footage showed the bomb disposal team, supported by sniffer dogs, investigating the site, which has been a hub for junior doctors' protests since August 9. Currently, the area is empty as medics continue their demonstrations outside Swasthya Bhavan in Salt Lake.
According to police sources, no evidence of harmful objects has been discovered so far. 'The bomb disposal squad is inspecting the bag,' a police official stated.
