Delhi PWD Minister Atishi has formally urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to address the persistent waterlogging issue at Zakhira underpass, exacerbated during rainfall.
Atishi pointed out that railway land's poor drainage system directs rainwater towards the underpass, causing significant flooding. Despite an agreement mandating a new culvert, which included a PWD payment of Rs. 2.70 crore, the construction remains incomplete.
This delay has resulted in up to two feet of water accumulation, causing vehicular disruptions and necessitating barricades to prevent accidents. Atishi is calling for an urgent solution to mitigate these recurring problems.
