Rajasthan Floods: Tragic Losses Amid Heavy Rainfall

At least 14 people were tragically killed in rain-related incidents across Rajasthan on Sunday, with five individuals swept away by the surging waters of Kanota Dam in Jaipur, officials reported.

Incessant rainfall since Saturday night has created a flood-like scenario in eastern Rajasthan's Karauli district, impacting areas such as Karauli and Hinduan. The torrential rains caused seven people to drown while bathing in Bharatpur's Banganga River, and five others were carried away by Kanota Dam's strong currents in Jaipur.

Rescue operations are currently underway to locate the missing persons. The deceased include young residents from Srinagar village who drowned in Bharatpur and three individuals from Sanwlod village who lost their lives in Jhunjhunu. Heavy rains also led to the collapse of a house in Karauli, resulting in the deaths of Zakir Khan and his son, Ziya Khan. Authorities have issued safety warnings and urged residents to avoid flooded areas and heed meteorological advisories.
