Security Forces Nab Suspected Terrorist with Explosives in Poonch

A man affiliated with a suspected terror group was apprehended by security forces on Thursday evening in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The suspect was found carrying a significant amount of explosive substances and grenades, as confirmed by officials.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, a joint checkpoint was established by the Jammu-Kashmir Police, the Romeo Force of 16 RR of the Indian Army, and the 38 battalions of the Central Reserve Police Forces at the Potha bypass in Poonch district. Security personnel noticed an individual approaching from Surankot towards Potha in a suspicious manner. The suspect attempted to flee upon nearing the checkpoint but was swiftly apprehended by the security forces.
During a subsequent search, officers recovered a blue bag containing three HE-36 hand grenades, explosive materials, and other incriminating items. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, identified as Mohd Shabir from Daryala, Nowshera, was in contact with a handler named Azim Khan, alias Mudeer, from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Mudeer had instructed Shabir to collect these consignments from Surankot town. Authorities are continuing to investigate, with more arrests expected.
