Heavy rains have lashed parts of Himachal Pradesh, causing significant disruptions. Landslides and flash floods have led to the closure of 128 roads across the state.

The regional Meteorological office has issued an 'orange' warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, at isolated places on Saturday. A 'yellow' warning has been issued for heavy rain until August 16. Nahan, in Sirmaur, recorded the highest rainfall of 168.3 mm.

According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, rains have disrupted 44 power and 67 water supply schemes. The weather department has also warned of flash flood risks in parts of Mandi, Sirmaur, Shimla, and Kullu districts.

The strong winds and heavy rains could potentially damage plantations, crops, vulnerable structures, and kutcha houses, leading to waterlogging in low-lying areas, according to officials.

Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner, Amarjit Singh, has urged residents to take precautions and avoid rivers and streams. More than 100 fatalities and economic losses of Rs 842 crores have been reported between June 27 and August 9. The state's rainfall deficit stood at 28% as of August 10.
