Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania stated that only MLAs are permitted to use the Assembly premises. The declaration followed concerns over former Congress MLA Bambar Thakur who allegedly addressed media within the premises.
Thakur, whose security was compromised during an attack, accused BJP leaders of shielding his attackers and involvement in illegal businesses. This prompted reactions from Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur.
As investigations continue, the Speaker is expected to rule on the issue to clarify the permissible use of Assembly premises for media interactions.
