South Korea's acting president, Choi Sang-mok, has declared his intention to appoint two Constitutional Court justices right away. This move aims to ensure stability in the court's operations.

Choi, who is also the nation's finance minister, assumed the acting presidency last Friday evening following the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.

Han had served as acting president after the impeachment and suspension of Yoon on December 14. Yoon faced impeachment charges for attempting to impose martial law on December 3.
