In a striking accusation, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday alleged that the Congress is collaborating with divisive elements in the Muslim community, anticipating a loss in the forthcoming Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections.
During a press conference at BJP's headquarters, Prasad accused the Congress and the INDIA bloc of attempting to secure Muslim votes by catering to conservative sections. He referenced a purported promise by the Congress to grant a 10 percent quota to Muslims in education and jobs, supposedly at the cost of marginalized OBCs.
The ongoing political exchange has seen the Congress rejecting these claims, with leaders like Nana Patole distancing themselves from any such supposed letters. However, the BJP remains resolute, questioning if similar benefits extended to Scheduled Castes will be offered to Muslims, contradicting constitutional principles.
