Kalpana Soren, the star campaigner of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has made strong accusations against the Election Commission, claiming it attempted to hinder her campaigning efforts by denying clearance for her helicopter. During a poll meeting in West Singhbhum's Jagannathpur constituency, she declared that no obstacle could prevent her party's return to power in Jharkhand.
She further criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of failing to promote education, particularly for girls, during its 20-year rule in the state. According to Soren, the BJP superficially presents itself as a supporter of Jharkhand's people while closing schools and neglecting the development of women. In contrast, she highlighted the Hemant Soren government's initiatives like providing pensions and houses.
Soren also targeted the BJP for its perceived elitism and disregard for tribal identity and culture. She questioned the national government's stance on recognizing the Sarna Code, a tribal religion, and urged voters to support coalition candidate Sona Ram Sinku, reinforcing the JMM and Congress alliance's commitment to tribal rights.
