The Election Commission has taken official action against Sukanta Majumdar, the BJP president for West Bengal, by issuing a show cause notice.

The notice pertains to his alleged derogatory comments regarding the national emblem and the police force of West Bengal, made during a public meeting.

The Trinamool Congress has submitted a complaint to the poll authorities, leading to this notice which demands a response from Majumdar by 8 pm on Monday.
