In a firm assertion of political independence, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) declared it would not form any alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This announcement was made by party leader D Jayakumar after a strategic meeting chaired by AIADMK Chief Edappadi K Palaniswami at the party headquarters in Chennai.
Jayakumar emphasized the AIADMK's clarity on its political positioning, stating, 'No relation and alliance with BJP, that is our stand.' This declaration comes amid discussions on developing strategies for the 2026 local and state elections, which remain a priority for the party.
