Tamil Nadu Pledges Educational Support for Victims’ Children
Tamil Nadu's CM MK Stalin announces a Rs 5 crore initiative to fund the education of children whose parents, working in firecracker factories, died in accidents. Safety measures at fireworks factories and new district development projects were also prioritized during his visit to Virudhunagar district.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin declared on Sunday that the state government will fully fund the education of children whose parents died in firecracker factory accidents. A fund of Rs 5 crore has been designated for this program.
Stalin stated, "The state government will bear the complete educational expenses for the children of firecracker factory workers who lost their lives in accidents, covering primary to higher education." Assistance will be coordinated at the district level with Rs 5 crore set aside for this purpose.
During his visit to Virudhunagar district, Stalin inspected safety protocols at a fireworks factory, emphasizing the need for regular safety checks to avert accidents. Virudhunagar is renowned as India's fireworks manufacturing center but often grapples with fatal mishaps.
Additionally, on Sunday, CM Stalin inaugurated the new Virudhunagar District Collector's Office and unveiled several developmental projects worth Rs 101 crores for regional advancement. (ANI)
