A man was detained at Kochi International Airport for attempting to smuggle hybrid ganja from Thailand, as reported by the Kerala Excise Department on Monday.
The individual, identified as 28-year-old Muhammad Ukash from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, was caught with 940 grams of ganja upon arrival from Thailand. He faced charges related to drug smuggling.
Customs authorities alerted the Excise Department following the discovery of the illicit substance during routine baggage checks, leading to the seizure and transfer of the drugs to the Aluva Excise Range Office for further proceedings. Investigations revealed Ukash's repeated visits to Thailand over the past month.
