Telangana's Congress government is gearing up for a grand 26-day celebration to mark its first anniversary, as announced by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The festivities will span from November 14, Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary, to December 9, the birthday of Sonia Gandhi.
The celebrations, dubbed 'people's victory celebrations', will feature a variety of events including the handing over of appointment letters to newly-recruited employees, laying foundation stones for major infrastructure projects, and inaugurating nursing and paramedical colleges. These events aim to spotlight the government's initiatives and outline its future vision.
Under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's leadership, the government has launched several welfare and development programs. Key achievements include free bus travel for women, affordable LPG, free electricity for small users, filling 50,000 government vacancies, and a substantial crop loan waiver. The celebrations will culminate in a grand cultural event with a laser show, showcasing Telangana's rich cultural heritage.
