Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a strong appeal to the citizens of Jharkhand, urging them to participate vigorously in the first phase of the assembly elections. In a bid to bolster democratic engagement, Modi stressed the importance of each vote.
The first round of voting kicked off early Wednesday, covering 43 assembly seats across 15 districts. A total of 683 candidates are in contention, including prominent names such as former Chief Minister Champai Soren and ex-MP Geeta Kora.
Polling commenced at 7 am and will continue until 5 pm. The second phase is slated for November 20, and votes will be counted on November 23. Modi's call is seen as a reinforcement of democratic values, particularly urging first-time voters to prioritize their electoral duties.
