Veteran Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has raised serious allegations against the BJP, claiming its senior leadership played a pivotal role in orchestrating the 2022 split in the Shiv Sena. This political maneuver led to the toppling of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.
Speaking to reporters in Satara, Chavan highlighted the November 20 assembly elections as occurring amidst the backdrop of this significant political upheaval. He detailed how the split unfolded in June 2022, spearheaded by Shiv Sena MLAs rebelling against Uddhav Thackeray, the party president and then-Chief Minister.
Chavan accused the BJP of meticulous planning to ensure the collapse of the MVA government, describing it as akin to a military operation involving security and chartered planes. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for refraining from using his anti-corruption slogan in Maharashtra.
