The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is predicted to win over 170 seats in the Maharashtra assembly elections and will decide on the chief minister post collectively. The MVA aims to unseat the current Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP alliance, with claims of unity and promises of improved governance.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is anticipated to secure over 170 seats in the forthcoming 288-member Maharashtra assembly election, a senior Congress leader, Vijay Wadettiwar, asserted this Tuesday. The assembly elections are triggering fierce competition between the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposing MVA coalition.
The MVA, comprising the NCP (SP), Shiv Sena (UBT), and Congress, aims to dethrone the incumbent Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP coalition led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. According to Wadettiwar, who serves as the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra assembly, the primary goal is to oust the Mahayuti government. The decision regarding the chief minister's appointment will follow post-election deliberations with alliance partners and Congress' high command.
Wadettiwar dismissed rumors of discord among MVA partners and suggested the BJP is actively promoting such notions to disrupt voter alignment. Highlighting voter dissatisfaction with the Mahayuti rule, he emphasized a united MVA front ready to assume power and deliver on its promises, including a Rs 3,000 monthly allowance for women, countering Chief Minister Shinde's electoral tactic of a Rs 1,500 scheme.
