In a bid to resolve internal strife, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala announced that Maharashtra's party rebels must withdraw their nominations before the upcoming assembly elections. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Chennithala assured that the MVA will present a united front against the ruling BJP.
Chennithala accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of grabbing seats allotted to its Mahayuti allies, while highlighting how the MVA continues to ensure equal representation for all its partners. With November 4 marked as the deadline for candidacy withdrawal, political insiders predict intense negotiations in the upcoming days.
The political landscape in Maharashtra sees the MVA coalition—comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP)—in a heated contest against the BJP-led Mahayuti. Chennithala aims for a disciplined campaign devoid of friendly encounters among opposition allies to achieve governance through MVA, amidst accusations of an unbalanced approach by the ruling party.
