Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Reconvenes After Six Years

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly announced its provisional schedule for the upcoming session, marking its return after more than six years. The opening session will commence with the election of the Speaker, followed by an address from the Lieutenant Governor on November 4.
According to the calendar provided by Pro-tem Speaker Mubarak Gul, the November 5 session will focus on obituary references. Scheduled discussions on the motion of thanks concerning the Lieutenant Governor's address will take place on November 6 and 7.
An official spokesperson stated that the response session to the motion of thanks on the Lieutenant Governor's address is slated for November 8. This reconvening marks the first assembly meeting since the 2018 session, prior to the reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.
