President Murmu's Landmark Visit to Chhattisgarh: Empowerment and Connectivity
President Draupadi Murmu visits Chhattisgarh for a historic engagement. She'll attend multiple convocations and unveil economic aid for women. Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended a cordial reception to President Draupadi Murmu at Raipur's Swami Vivekananda Airport, as she embarked on a two-day trip to the state. Over the course of her visit, President Murmu will attend notable convocations in Raipur, underscoring her supportive presence in educational milestones.
On October 25, President Murmu will graces the second convocation of AIIMS Raipur and the 14th convocation of NIT Raipur. Her itinerary in Raipur includes visiting Purkhauti Muktangan. Communicating in Bhilai on October 26, she will attend the fourth convocation of IIT and the third convocation at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Memorial Health Science and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh.
Additionally, President Murmu will disburse the ninth installment under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana benefiting 70 lakh women, while also visiting the Lord Jagannath Temple. Days prior, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maa Mahamaya Airport virtually, heralding a new travel era for districts like Surguja, with enhanced connectivity to urban centers across India.
The inauguration ceremony included Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Governor Ramen Deka, and Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu, among others. Chief Minister Sai declared this as a pivotal moment for regional development, enhancing employment and connectivity. The airport upgrade, under India's Regional Connectivity Scheme, was completed for Rs 80 crore, spanning 365 acres and accommodating 72-seater aircraft, facilitating up to 500,000 passengers a year.
