The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday released its list of candidates for the bypolls scheduled on November 13 for four assembly seats in Punjab. The list was shared on the social media platform X.

The bypolls became necessary after the MLAs of these seats were elected to the Lok Sabha. AAP has selected Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon to compete from Gidderbaha, after quitting the Shiromani Akali Dal in August. Once a close associate of SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, Dhillon had contested from Gidderbaha in earlier elections without success and served as the chairman of Muktsar district planning board.

For the Chabbewal (SC) segment, AAP announced Ishank Chabbewal, a doctor and son of AAP Hoshiarpur MP Raj Kumar Chabbewal, as the candidate. This seat became vacant after the elder Chabbewal, originally a Congress MLA, joined AAP and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hoshiarpur. The results of the bypolls will be announced on November 23. Other candidates include Harinder Singh Dhaliwal from Barnala and Gurdeep Singh Randhawa from Dera Baba Nanak.
