  • India

Former Haryana minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav has reversed his decision to resign from the Congress party just two days after announcing his departure. Yadav emphasized his lifelong dedication to the party, stating he remains a "Congressman by birth."

Yadav cited persuasion from his son and former MLA, Chiranjeev Rao, as a key factor in his decision to stay. Rao urged him to move past previous grievances and continue supporting the Congress. Yadav had initially resigned following dissatisfaction with the party's treatment after Sonia Gandhi stepped down as president.

He highlighted his family's longstanding association with the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, which spans over 70 years, as well as his commitments alongside late Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Despite expressing past frustrations, Yadav vowed to bolster the Congress and pay tribute to his mentor, Sonia Gandhi.
