Amritpal Singh, a jailed radical preacher and Khadoor Sahib MP, finds himself at the center of a political storm following accusations from the Punjab Police of orchestrating the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau. On Saturday, Amritpal's father, Tarsem Singh, publicly demanded a judicial inquiry by a Punjab and Haryana High Court judge to examine the veracity of these claims.

The controversy arose after Punjab Police chief, Gaurav Yadav, alleged that the murder of Hari Nau, who was shot dead on October 9, was carried out under the direction of Amritpal Singh. Amritpal is currently held in Dibrugarh jail in Assam under the National Security Act. The police have linked him to the crime through the arrest of three gang members allegedly led by Arshdeep Singh Dalla, a designated terrorist.

Tarsem Singh disputes his son's reported involvement, arguing that Amritpal has been under high-security detention for over a year. He accused the system of attempting to tarnish his son's reputation because of Amritpal's electoral victory from the Khadoor Sahib constituency. The case continues to stir tension as Amritpal, head of the 'Waris Punjab De' outfit, remains behind bars.
