Punjab Police unveiled a major triumph against drug trafficking, dismantling an international syndicate with the arrest of two individuals. A significant seizure of 1.5 kg heroin was achieved, authorities announced on Friday.

The Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, relayed that the heroin was cleverly concealed within jackets. Underlying the case is a broader investigation into networks reaching Afghan handlers operating in Delhi, tied to larger international cartels.

The apprehended individuals, Sukhdeep Singh and Krishan, face serious charges. Notably, Sukhdeep Singh has a history of legal troubles, including a kidnapping in 2020. The smuggling operation involved the use of jackets to transport heroin covertly via vehicles.
