A recently surfaced video appears to depict North Korean recruits donning Russian military fatigues, a move Ukrainian officials consider a new phase in the ongoing 2 1/2-year war. This development marks the entrance of another country into the conflict.
The footage, verified by Ukraine's Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security, shows presumed North Korean soldiers in line to receive clothing and gear from Russian personnel. Although The Associated Press couldn't independently verify the content, Ukrainian sources assert confidence in its authenticity.
This comes amid reports that around 11,000 North Korean soldiers are training in eastern Russia. Ukrainian intelligence suggests these troops could join the fight by November, underscoring deepening military ties between Russia and North Korea and prompting calls for international support against the expanded threat.
