In a sharp critique of the Union government's policies, Zamir Abdullah, son of Omar Abdullah, accused it of attempting to undermine the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) to exert pressure on local inhabitants. Abdullah alleged that this strategy is aimed at destabilizing the Abdullah family, a significant political force in the region.

He asserted that the JKNC is resolutely committed to advocating for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, declaring it a fundamental right rather than merely an issue. Abdullah underscored the pressing concerns of unemployment and electricity, arguing that resolving these will fulfill the people's aspirations for democracy.

Abdullah further called for a concerted movement to secure statehood, stating that it is the primary battle that must be won. He criticized Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and accused the government of imposing non-local governance. Abdullah reaffirmed his party's position as the legitimate voice for the restoration of full statehood in Jammu and Kashmir.
