In recent developments from Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah has achieved a significant lead in the Budgam seat, surpassing the PDP's Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi by over 16,000 votes.
As one round of counting remains, Abdullah has amassed 32,344 votes compared to Mehdi's 16,050. This near-insurmountable lead positions Abdullah as the likely winner.
Additionally, Abdullah is leading in Ganderbal, a stronghold of his family, by over 5,000 votes against PDP candidate Bashir Ahmad Mir, reinforcing his candidacy for the chief minister position.
