Former U.S. President Barack Obama is stepping back into the political arena to campaign for Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris as the November 5 U.S. election approaches.
According to the Washington Post, Obama will begin his campaign efforts with an appearance in Pittsburgh this Thursday, engaging in rallies and events to garner support for Harris. Both he and Michelle Obama publicly endorsed Harris' presidential aspirations in July.
Obama made a compelling plea to voters at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, declaring, "America is ready for a new chapter. America is ready for a better story. We are ready for a President Kamala Harris." The race between Harris and Republican contender Donald Trump remains highly competitive according to recent polls.
