BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has retracted her comments calling for the return of the repealed farm laws, once again finding herself in a political maelstrom. The BJP quickly distanced itself from her remarks, while the Congress demanded her expulsion from the saffron party and sought an explanation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ranaut clarified that her views on the farm laws were personal and did not represent the BJP's official stance. This controversy comes as the BJP is deeply involved in an intense election campaign in Haryana, a state that saw significant protests against the farm laws before they were repealed.
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia confirmed that Ranaut was not authorized to make any such statements. Himachal Pradesh BJP also distanced itself from her comments. The actor-politician had previously faced backlash for similar remarks and was reprimanded following protests against the farm laws.
