In a significant development, an FIR was registered on Wednesday against Samajwadi Party MLA Tufani Saroj from the Kerakat constituency. The FIR was filed after Saroj allegedly threatened to kill Vivek Kumar Yadav, the party's constituency in-charge, according to police sources.

The complaint was lodged by Vivek Kumar Yadav, following orders from Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma. The case has been registered under Section 351(3) for criminal intimidation by threatening to cause death at Barsathi police station.

Tufani Saroj, who represents the Kerakat constituency in Uttar Pradesh Assembly, was unavailable for comment. According to the FIR, Saroj allegedly called Yadav and issued the threat, warning him to 'be careful' or he would be murdered. A comprehensive investigation has been initiated by the police.
