National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah has called on alliance partner Congress to intensify its campaign efforts in the Jammu region. Abdullah emphasized that the lion's share of seats allocated to the Congress in their pre-poll alliance is in Jammu, making it crucial for the party to boost its presence there.

Speaking on Wednesday, Abdullah expressed hope that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would shift his campaign focus to Jammu after concluding his activities in Kashmir. 'Ultimately, what the Congress does in Kashmir is not that important. What the Congress does in Jammu is important,' he said.

Abdullah's comments came during a discussion about Gandhi's recent visit to Sopore, where he rallied in support of Congress candidates. Despite this, Abdullah noted that the Congress campaign efforts in the Jammu plains have been lacking thus far, urging immediate action with only five days of campaigning remaining.
