The Himachal Pradesh Congress party has issued a challenge to Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, urging her to substantiate her allegations that the state government took loans and diverted the money to Sonia Gandhi. If she fails to present proof, the party has threatened to file a defamation case against her.
Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh slammed Ranaut's comments, describing them as indicative of her 'intellectual bankruptcy.' Singh stated, 'There cannot be a bigger foolish statement than saying that funds from the Centre or the state's development funds are being given to Sonia Gandhi,' and demanded evidence of even a single rupee being diverted.
Ranaut's contentious remarks were made during a BJP programme in Manali, where she accused the state government of hollowing out its coffers by redirecting loans to Sonia Gandhi. Singh also criticized Ranaut's education level, claiming it reflects in her statements. The minister took further jabs at Ranaut over her film 'Emergency,' which is yet to be cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification.
