Union Minister and senior BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar has extended an invitation to senior Congress leader and MP Kumari Selja, a prominent Dalit face, to join the saffron party. This comes amid reports that Selja has been distancing herself from the October 5 Haryana assembly polls campaign.

Addressing a gathering in Gharaunda to support BJP nominee Harvinder Kalyan, Khattar highlighted the alleged infighting within the Haryana Congress, pointing to the discord between Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda over the chief ministerial candidacy. "The father says he will become the CM while the son claims the same. Other leaders also have ambitions for the CM post," Khattar remarked.

Later, when questioned by the media about the possibility of Kumari Selja joining the BJP, Khattar stated, "It is a world of possibilities and nothing can be ruled out. Everything will be known when the right time comes." Meanwhile, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has denied any dissidence within the Haryana Congress, asserting that the party will fight the elections in a united manner.
