Delhi Chief Minister designate Atishi arrived at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal ahead of her swearing-in ceremony at Raj Niwas on Saturday. Delhi ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and Gopal Rai also attended.

Dilip Pandey, Chief Whip of the Delhi Assembly, criticized the BJP, alleging the party's intent to dismantle AAP by incarcerating its leaders. Pandey accused the BJP of misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to bring false charges against AAP members.

On Thursday, the Aam Aadmi Party announced Atishi would be sworn in as Chief Minister of Delhi on September 21. President Droupadi Murmu appointed Atishi and accepted Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, with the provision that he remains in office until the transition is complete.

Atishi expressed a blend of joy and sorrow upon her appointment, showing gratitude to Kejriwal while stating her intention to work towards his return as Chief Minister in the next election. She highlighted the unique opportunities provided by AAP for new politicians like herself, boasting her rise from an ordinary family to Chief Minister within the party's framework.

Atishi, aged 43, will become the third woman to hold the Chief Ministerial position in Delhi, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. Known for her significant contributions to improving Delhi's government-run schools, Atishi's political career has been marked by impactful educational reforms.
