Senior AAP leader Atishi has been unanimously chosen as the new chief minister of Delhi, following a proposal by Arvind Kejriwal during a meeting with the party's legislators. This decision comes shortly after Kejriwal's release from jail on Friday.
On Sunday, Kejriwal declared his intention to resign from his post, stating that he would only consider a return if the public bestowed upon him a certificate of honesty. Atishi's appointment marks a significant transition within the AAP leadership.
Atishi, known for her key role within the party and the government, holds multiple significant portfolios including finance, education, and the Public Works Department (PWD).
