The Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a significant turn in the ongoing alleged excise policy scam. Former Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia expressed his gratitude towards the Supreme Court, labelling his arrest an 'insurance arrest' aimed at destabilizing the AAP government.
Speaking to reporters, Sisodia said, "This is not just a victory of truth; lies have also been exposed. The Supreme Court observed that the arrest by CBI was planned to prevent his release in the ED case. Our senior advocate, Singhvi Ji, had also described it as an 'insurance arrest.' Kejriwal was not detained for any corruption."
Sisodia thanked the Supreme Court, the Constitution, and advocate Singhvi Ji, highlighting that the judgement would empower others fighting for truth. "BJP hatched thousands of conspiracies to arrest him. An honest man working for the people was jailed, and there is no greater sin than this in the history of democracy. Today, we salute and thank the Supreme Court, the Constitution, and Babasaheb," Sisodia added.
