Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the former chief minister of Haryana, declared on Thursday that the countdown for the BJP government in the state has commenced, predicting an inevitable departure of the 'corrupt' and 'non-performing' administration.
Accusing the government of deceiving the public for a decade, Hooda demanded accountability for the unfulfilled promise of doubling farmers' income by 2022 and the inflated costs of diesel, fertilizers, and seeds. 'What happened to the commitment of doubling farmers' income? Why was the farmers' movement and their sacrifices ignored?' Hooda questioned.
Speaking during a public rally as his party candidates Ashok Arora, Mewa Singh, and Ramkaran Kala filed nominations for assembly polls, Hooda promised a victorious Congress would deliver development and welfare schemes. He called attention to the BJP's strategy of fielding splinter parties to divide votes, urging voters to back Congress for a significant majority.
