AIMIM leader and former MP Imtiaz Jaleel announced on Wednesday his intention to visit Mumbai on September 23 to protest against controversial statements made by Hindu seer Ramgiri Maharaj and MLA Nitesh Rane. Jaleel plans to present copies of the Constitution to Mahayuti leaders, urging action against the accused.
Ramgiri Maharaj and Nitesh Rane face multiple FIRs for their remarks concerning Muslims, but no significant actions have been taken. Jaleel criticized the government's lack of response, noting the inaction could lead to anarchy. He also questioned the commitment of police officers to their anti-discrimination pledges.
Additionally, Jaleel took aim at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, which provides monthly financial assistance to eligible women. He argued that the program is financially unsustainable and will only last until Diwali.
