Amid continuing criticism from BJP leaders over Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the United States, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari has stepped forward in defense of the Leader of Opposition. Tiwari stated that Gandhi's assertions about the RSS and BJP seeking to divide society based on religion and caste are accurate. 'Whatever Rahul Gandhi has said is the truth,' Tiwari declared.

During an event with the Indian diaspora in Herndon, Virginia, Gandhi pointedly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party and made a veiled reference to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He argued that the ruling party fails to recognize that India belongs to everyone, while emphasizing that the RSS's headquarters in Nagpur promotes a singular ideology. Gandhi used the metaphor of a diverse food plate to illustrate India's cultural and historical diversity, reinforcing that India is a 'union of states' with varied traditions.

Gandhi further contended that the RSS believes certain states and communities to be inferior. 'The RSS is claiming that certain states, languages, religions, and communities are inferior. This is the crux of the conflict,' he expressed. He underscored that all languages and traditions hold equal importance, questioning what one would do if forbidden from speaking their native language. His visit to the United States includes engagements in Washington and Dallas, where he has interacted with students, teachers, and the Indian diaspora.
