Former Union minister and BJP leader Raosaheb Danve announced on Tuesday that the upcoming Maharashtra assembly election will see no friendly contests among Mahayuti constituents. He clarified that the winnability of candidates would be the sole criterion for seat allocation.

Responding to reporters, Danve denied any plans by the Mahayuti members – BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP – to declare a chief ministerial candidate before the election results are announced.

'The next chief minister of Maharashtra will be decided after the assembly poll results are in,' Danve asserted. He also dismissed speculations of any friendly contests between BJP and NCP on certain seats.

'We will find an amicable solution to seat-sharing,' Danve added, confirming that polls for the 288-member Maharashtra assembly are likely to take place in November.
