As the Haryana Assembly elections approach, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Haryana Chief Sushil Gupta, on Tuesday, announced the party's surge as a significant alternative. Highlighting the achievements under Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Gupta stressed that AAP's growth is sidelining the BJP and capturing the future of Haryana politics.
Gupta articulated that AAP's list of candidates principally features core workers, a priority for the party. However, Gupta indicated openness to welcoming adept individuals from other political factions, provided there is sufficient space within the party ranks.
Moreover, Gupta asserted that BJP is virtually out of the electoral game in Haryana. He forecasted a direct contest between Congress and AAP, attributing waning influence to other parties. Gupta's comments follow the breakdown of seat-sharing discussions between AAP and Congress, a partnership seen during the recent Lok Sabha elections.
The state election date is set for October 5, with nominations closing on September 12. Results will be declared on October 8, concurrent with Jammu and Kashmir's elections.
